I Dream a Church...
The prophet Joel (2:28-32), echoed by the apostle, Peter (Acts 2:17-18), proclaims the word of God saying, "I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young people will see visions and your old people will dream dreams..." Surely you have visions and dreams for the Church, our church.

I dream church. . .
ReplyDeletethat has no fine print!
that practices open doors with radical hospitality to all God's people.
I dream a church...
ReplyDeletewhere numinous encounters happen every day!
I dream a church that isn't tied down and defeated by the expectations, disappointments, and ways of the world; a church that truly exemplifies an alternative community; that dreams the impossible and radically does the work of Christ to those defeated and beat down by the world, without fear of being rejected, mistreated, or gifts being misused. I dream a church.....
ReplyDeleteI dream a church where politicians are welcome but no one practices politics. I dream a church where heirarchical structure becomes an oxymoron. I dream a church where expensive grace is given and received lavishly. I dream a church that never quits being the church. I dream a church that shows the government (and everyone else) how and why to feed the hungry (Because they're HUNGRY!). I dream a church where "different" doesn't mean "problem child"(or adult). I dream a church that welcomes the Holy Spirit to lead every activity and flow through every person. I dream a church where the absence of a strong sense of God's presence in corporate gatherings is practically unheard of. ...where miracles still happen....where we are accepted, challenged, and celebrated.
